about

Hi,I’m Gina Vide (pronounced Vee dah), which is the Swedish word for willow, serves as the inspiration for my brand: petal-based artwork and my blog.

Gina studied art in a BFA program and is an experienced artist, illustrator, and international designer. She originally founded her award-winning blog featuring creative play and Scandinavian life with children as Willowday, alongside her three children from their home between city and sea in Sweden. The original 800+ projects can be found in the archive. Gina is looking forward to sharing new Printables for Friends of Willowday here, soon, too.

Willowday now serves as the home for her flora-based art, products, and will also be a space where she’ll share new art, in other mediums, here too.

Her petal-based floral artwork is crafted with handpicked flora from daily walks along the sea in her Swedish archipelago neighborhood—a journey that began in play with her children. Each piece tells a unique petal-story, sparking imagination and bringing nature-inspired beauty into homes.

Gina’s work has been featured in prominent publications such as Disney, PopSugar, Huffington Post, Botanical Anthology, and Bolig (Danish). She has collaborated with clients including Sony & Universal Music, TREK bikes USA, Konsum, TREK Bicycles International, Karolinska, and Ulriksdal Confidencen. She has also participated in events such as Trägårdsmässan in Stockholm, Sweden, and was recently chosen to participate in an Art Residence program at Villa Puebla in Barcelonette, France. Gina is the author and illustrator of the ABC Flower Safari book and “Saga om Confidencen,” a commission for Confidencen theater at Ulriksdal by the Swedish Royal Family in Swedish.

When not creating art, Gina enjoys spending time with her eclectic French-American-Swedish family—her husband, three children, and two dogs—exploring culinary creativity, engaging in outdoor activities like running and skiing, yoga, and gardening, and nurturing her vagabond passion for travel.
