Make Pencil Toppers


We're hopping into Spring with bunnies and flowers! These are such a fun way to work with pompoms; are easy to make, useful and make fantastic gifts, too.

How to make a Flower Topped Pencil
Pencil
Scissors
Washi Tape
Pink Felt (5 inches, needed)
Craft google eyes
Glue Gun
Pink Pompom

- Cut a 5 x 3/4 " strip of felt.Scallop the edges every inch.
- Wrap the pencil diagonally with washi tape. Securing the end with one horizonal piece.
- Dot the top of the pencil with glue and place pompom on top.
- Make a line of glue at the top of the pencil, where the pencil meets the pompom and quickly wrap the felt, flower petal around. To wrap the flower petal, overlap each petal to make the final length the exact size of the pencil. See the photos below.
- Once the petals are secure, your flower pencil is ready to use or for gift giving.

White Felt
Craft google eyes
Glue Gun
White Pompom

- Cut 2 bunny ears and match their size to the pompom.
- Wrap the pencil diagonally with washi tape. Securing the end with one horizonal piece.
- Glue ears and eyes into place, then glue the bunny on to the top of the pencil and you'll have a bunny ready to hop off on it's way! Happy Making

    1. Lucia, I'm just so happy to hear from you! I hope you do have the chance to give these a try. They are just so much fun -- both to make, use and give as presents. If you're looking for a super, easy, variation, they're so pretty even if you just wrap the pencils and add pompoms to the tops! Have fun and I'd love to see what you do.
