Happy Friday

Hi, friends! Time can fly like a wild stallion! Are you ready to say "Good-bye" to January? I hope your year is off to a wonderful start.

I met these beautiful horses this morning (here) and realized, once home, that it's not only Friday or the last day of January, almost the Olympics , or my friend Cori's birthday today, but ... it's the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Horse.  I always love reasons to celebrate and another reason to share these beautiful horses. When Henry and I returned from our morning walk, I eagerly read up on what this means and learned that
people born in the Year of the Horse are clever, kind, animated and energetic. Although they sometimes talk too much, they are cheerful, perceptive, talented and love to be in the centre of a crowd. They are popular among friends, active at work and have a deft sense of humor. I like this.

In addition, 2014 is also the year of the Wooden Horse and snapped a photo of one of our Swedish Wooden horses from our little collection in ode to this. Wood horses are said to be strong and stable and have a better ability to make decisions. Excellent at interacting with others, they are successful personally and professionally.
OK. Altsummit is still dancing in my head and my jet lag feels feels like it's playing tricks on my skill sets all week.  I really wanted to check in with you to say hello ---- and, as always, our minds are creative, as well as our hands (peek at one project | here) --- but, when when I sit down at the computer my thoughts go from: "should we start raising a chicken to do we need milk, what did I just name that file, or should this be pink or grey?" I feel like every thing's taking an unusual amount of brain power.

So, please come back next week for new projects! Today, I hope you'll enjoy a few photos from our surroundings and also a few projects I've run across that I think you might enjoy, too!
- Just in case you missed this week's willowday projec, it's a family favorite:
Personalized Kids' art (here)

- And, since we still have snow in our neighborhood, it's very easy to think snowmen. If you'd like to invited one to your neighborhood, here's a snowman who can travel anywhere | here | or these guys, too (snowmen meringue | here |) and both can get chased by this Snowflake Lion | here.|

Round up:
-I've always love Barefoot book's, Lin's Lantern, when teaching my English classes. Here's a post from them, too, from last year, about How-to Make Lanterns
-What a fun little party invitation: Party Animal from Little Hiccups
-Valentine: Marbled Milk Paper Valentine
-Simple fun: Paper Embroidery from schaeresteipapier
-Recycling: Fun with boxes madeby joel
-l-o-v-e this embroidery idea
-Knitters: I love the edging on this blanket
-One of my favorite ways to give flowers: Handwritten bouquets

bake:
-L-O-V-E brownies from larecetadelafelicidad
-Beets for Pink Waffles. Done: Saturday Brunch (same natural color  - here)
-After this past month: yes: Immunity Soup from 101 cookbooks.
-Made for my family so that they'd wish me home again quickly: Easy + delicious: Cannelloni. It worked!

Happy Happy Weekend!
