Luck

I know this about myself: from my Dad, I apparently carry great 4 leaf clover finding genes!

I found this one 10 minutes ago, as I was chasing our little pup, Henry, and knew it had to be today's post.

One of my biggest "4 leaf clover memories" came during a walk that I had with my parents, who were here visiting us in Sweden. We had just shared the news of our big secret: I was expecting our first baby. Following that conversation, my Father spied clover, after clover, after clover, as we took this memorable walk together --- 13 in total. I pressed and framed them for our newborn-to-be child's nursery.

I live by the idea that one makes their own luck, but, I take luck in any and all forms! I, undoubtedly, have felt lucky. What about you? Do you share these abilities, too? Are 4 leaf clovers considered lucky in your area of the world? Do you believe that some people are lucky? I have one friend who's never, ever found a 4 leaf clover in his life and another who does not even believe that in luck at all --- she refuses to even believe it exists. (Although, the movie, Match Point, was one she had a hard time debating.) I would love to hear from you and send these wishes off with my pick of the day!

  2. Beautiful post! I do believe in luck, actually. In our family, "13" is our lucky number. Both of our children, as well as my niece, were born on the 13th day of the month, one even at 11:13 pm! So for us, that number can only bring good things and we will pick it every time :).

  3. I love this. My mother has that same gene which I didn't get! She would walk through our large yard in the evening while we rode bikes and pick 4-leaf clovers as she went. Her dictionary has as many 4-leaf clovers pressed in it as it does words!

    1. Melissa, I love that! Thank you for this! Isn't that amazing? I hope she brings enough to the whole family.

(Speaking of this, I have real technical problems at willowday today and keep thinking a little superstitiously about even talking about l--c-k! Oh dear.. not my favorite aspect of creation but so important! No subscribers emails. However, I'm moving to phase 2: this is now the time to make your own luck and it might be the push that I needed to switch over to wordpress -- something I had been procrastinating on. Any experience with this?)
