If happiness were measured with smiles and treats, we were at 100% already on Monday! Some of the reasons for this: 2 big birthday (slumber) parties at home for the boys, a dynamite (and muddy) handball tournament, the children's piano recital, our friend Emilia's concert at Ulriksdal Castle, the end of a great school year and some super parties. WOW. 5 star. What about you? What's making you happy this week? Is your summer just beginning, like us, or did it start a while ago?

It is such a genuine pleasure when you come by, comment and help grow willowday. Vacation has begun for us, but willowday will be here all summer. Posting, during summer vacation, will be a first and I thank you for baring with me, as I'll balance summer destinations and a change of atttitude. I can guess it's the same with you. Is there something special you'd like this Summer? I'd love to hear what you're looking for as Summer begins.

Happy Summer

  1. I am similar to you, I am American with a Swedish husband and we live in Monaco (French culture) with our 2 grade school children. Soon we will be 6 weeks in Sweden for summer vacation, can't wait. I am a new Willowday follower and enjoy your posts. Happy summer! Lisa

    1. Lisa, thank you so much for coming by and taking the time to comment! Thank you, too, for becoming a follower. I started willowday just 5 1/2 months ago and am in constant wonder at how it's made the world so much smaller. It's wonderful. I wish you a wonderful summer in the north. A perfect Swedish summer is almost sublime.

We have more in common than you'd imagine; My husband's French family are Monégasque and Niçois. June in your region is one of my favorite times of the year to visit and one of the reasons why we've missed so many Midsummers in Sweden. Wishing you the best! "Jag önska dig en trevlig midsommar helg!"

  2. Our family shares the same cultures in languages, food, ideals and fetes! Today Midsommar celbrations in a park overlooking the Alps after concocting our maypole. Fete with ABBA and French music yesterday at the local IKEA, while July holds our Independence and Bastille Days.

  3. What a fun coincidence! Your Midsummer sounds just beautiful . Thank you for sharing. Enjoy!

Thank you!
