Why is Father's Day synonymous with neck ties? I know that my husband, Staffan, would much prefer to be neck-tie free on his day. This notion had me thinking. Let's loosen the Windsor knot on this traditional Dad item.
Do you have an old neck tie around? Re-purpose it and use it for this wrap. Even a strip of an old pinstripe shirt, could shine and make this package for Dad personal.
Once you've snipped the tie to size and finished the end, it can be used a a belt or hair band.

SUPPLIES:
Tie (or cut a strip as a ribbon from an old pinstripe shirt)
Scissors
Needle and matching thread
One wrapped package
Fit tie to package.
Cut to correct length.
Fold edges over (to the back) to match the other end and stitch up.
Wrap!

This is a very creative gift wrapping technique. I'm sure my dad will love this idea!
ReplyDeleteI've never though of these simple ideas! I could just use a plain paper or with minimal designs, and leave the attention to the tie/cloth! Thanks for this, I'm running out of ideas.
