Did you know that we are currently in week 11? (I had to look that up, by the way.)
In Sweden, if you call the dentist for an appointment or talk to a friend about an upcoming holiday, chances are that they will ask you something like this: "Could you come week 14? The dentist has an opening that week;" or "We'll be in Italy, weeks 24 and 25." Swedes use the week of the year to mark time. I have been living in Sweden for eons now and still, the only weeks I am confident in naming are: week 1 and week 52.
I suppose it's really practical, if you are raised with this; but, this is just absolutely
not a part of my make up. I have a hard time getting this concept to stick. Have you heard about this before? Are there any other countries in the world that use the weeks for planning?
