Paris: Angelina's Chocolat Chaud and Mont Blanc
Although I've been writing about the Spring feeling in the air, there is no forgetting that Stockholm sits at 59 degrees north. Our daffodil are starting to push their way up, but our lawn still has a little snow and our skis remain ready for the slopes.

Today's post combines two things on my mind: "after ski" hot chocolate and Paris in the Springtime. What is it about Paris that beckons in the Spring? If I can't be there, I can go there in spirit. When visiting our friends, the de Ricard family, in Paris this winter, we first went ice skating at the "Hôtel de Ville" and followed this with Chocolat Chaud and Mont Blanc at Angelina's, rue de Rivoli.  There are many charming Parisian cafes with delicious chocolat chaud around this city, but, Angelina's is the Grand Dame and is a trip into the Belle Epoque itself.

Angelina's hot chocolate is so rich that you can almost stand your spoon in it.  I found this recipe for Parisian Chocolat Chaud, at david lebowitz, and would like to give it a try.

  1. It sounds like you are just about where we are in terms of spring.
Our crocuses bloomed on Monday, but we will probably have to wait a bit for the daffodils.

Thank you so very much for the hot chocolate recipe! It sounds wonderful, and will surely come in handy when winter comes around again!

Sending you wishes for a beautiful day ahead!

  2. The weather does sound similar... once Spring starts, I you just want it to continue. Great. I hope that this recipe warms up a nice cold, winter's eve!... Wishing you the same wonderful day!

  3. Never been to Paris but I definitely want to go someday.
Meantime, I will take your advice for Angelina's. who knows - it may come in very handy. Although spring seems to be here already with flowers blooming everywhere and warmer temps I think i will give the hot chocolate recipe a try on sunday anyway. I love hot chocolate...
    have a nice weekend

    1. I hope that you enjoy -- sometime food gives us the opportunity to travel!

Thank you!
