ANGELINA IN PARIS, CHOCOLAT CHAUD

Paris: Angelina's Chocolat Chaud and Mont Blanc
Although I've been writing about the Spring feeling in the air, there is no forgetting that Stockholm sits at 59 degrees north. Our daffodil are starting to push their way up, but our lawn still has a little snow and our skis remain ready for the slopes.

Today's post combines two things on my mind: "after ski" hot chocolate and Paris in the Springtime. What is it about Paris that beckons in the Spring? If I can't be there, I can go there in spirit. When visiting our friends, the de Ricard family, in Paris this winter, we first went ice skating at the "Hôtel de Ville" and followed this with Chocolat Chaud and Mont Blanc at Angelina's, rue de Rivoli.  There are many charming Parisian cafes with delicious chocolat chaud around this city, but, Angelina's is the Grand Dame and is a trip into the Belle Epoque itself.

Angelina's hot chocolate is so rich that you can almost stand your spoon in it.  I found this recipe for Parisian Chocolat Chaud, at david lebowitz, and would like to give it a try.

  1. It sounds like you are just about where we are in terms of spring.
Our crocuses bloomed on Monday, but we will probably have to wait a bit for the daffodils.

Thank you so very much for the hot chocolate recipe! It sounds wonderful, and will surely come in handy when winter comes around again!

Sending you wishes for a beautiful day ahead!
